Emergency dentist
In the unfortunate event that you need emergency dental assistance please telephone the practice 01242 522230 and one of our Client Coordinators will be able to assist you during practice opening hours.
Out of hours please follow the instructions on the answer phone and Illume registered patients will be able to access support. We have partnered with a number of dental practices in the local area to provide a rota of on-call emergency services for weekends and Bank Holidays.

What counts as an emergency?
- Acute sudden-onset pain that doesn’t respond to normal painkilling medication
- Bleeding from an extraction site that cannot be stopped with normal home applied measures
- Rapidly increasing swelling in the face or neck, especially if it the swelling is on both sides
- Traumatic injury, such as a blow to the face or jaws, resulting in tooth damage or displacement
Please note, severe trauma, such as suspected facial bone fractures, should be seen at A&E.
Our priority will be to provide emergency advice, to stabilise your condition and to help control pain. Any general dental treatment required as a result of the emergency will be referred back to your regular dentist.
