Same Day Teeth

No-one wants an incomplete smile, which is why we offer you a range of temporary options while you are going through the process of having implants. This means that you’ll be able to leave with a full, happy smile the day you come to see us.

The options

We’ll make sure to talk you through all of the options to make sure we find a solution that works for you. We can:

  • Glue a temporary realistic-looking plastic tooth to the teeth on either side of your gap
  • Make a realistic-looking plastic plate if you have a gap that’s bigger than a single tooth
  • Fix a temporary tooth to the implant (once the implant is stable enough)
  • Create a small bridge to replace any worn crowns and to fill the gap

FAQs

You will be asked detailed questions about your medical history and there will be a complete examination of your mouth and any remaining teeth. You will also visit our hygienists as part of your treatment plan before and after the procedure.  Our hygienists will show you how to effectively clean your implants as part of your daily brushing routine.

Yes. You can have any number of teeth replaced with implants, from a single tooth to a complete set of upper and lower fixed teeth.

In many instances, the optimal time to place implants is when we are extracting teeth, as you are using the same natural healing process after tooth removal to integrate bone to the implants.

There are several options for replacing all your teeth. Not all of them involve implants.

  • A denture supported by two or more implants can replace the teeth.
  • A bridge fixed to four or more implants can replace the missing teeth.
  • A denture can also be fitted to without being anchored by implants, although they may adversely affect your ability to eat, taste food and speak. In the lower jaw increasingly the base line level of care is to consider at least 2 implants to stabilise a denture.
